This is a beautiful multicolor "Queen's Castle" 8.5" round vegetable serving bowl by Alfred Meakin, England. The transferware pattern features a castle on a lake surrounded by trees, flowers, vegetation and mountains. The prominent colors are brown, blue and pink on the creamy white ironstone. The edge of the bowl is gently scalloped, and the border has an embossed rope detail.
This charming piece is beautiful for display and nicely sized for use!
Excellent vintage condition! There is a small mark / scratch on the edge of the bowl which I have photographed. A very small chip on the underside base that is not visible and does not affect stability in any way. I do not see any crazing.
